Clint Eastwood & Edurarodo Minet in "Cry Macho" |
Not everyone is happy with the AMC Movie theaters and many folks are not seeing motion pictures these days. Not me! In fact, I was on my third date with a beautiful girl named Kathy from Chicago. She is a slender gal with brown hair and a face that would her get away and find another man. But Kathy is with me on this Saturday Autumn afternoon and it's "Show Time" as we enter the building to see Cry Macho.
Time stands still in the Clint Eastwood motion picture that was written by Nick Schenk & Richard Nash and the backdrop is shot on location in the southwest region of the United States. Dwight Yoakem re-hires his rodeo farmhand named Mike Milo to go kidnap Yoakem's son that is in Mexico. Furthermore, Rafo, a 14-year old boy played by Edurarodo Minett is portrayed as a young buck, cock-fighter with his male rooster named Macho in the bad lands of Mexico. A formulated plot of "Good Guy" - "Bad Guy" leaves the audience wondering about who is right in this case. One, does the boy's father have a right to take his son back to United States? Second, should her Rafo continue to live with his mother and as a Diablo the rest of his life? These are good questions to ask, and who has that right in the first place?
In "Cry Macho", the boy's mother cries that Rafo is her property and that no one can take her child. At a certain point in the film, Mike and Rafo focus their relationship upon trust and begin to bond. The job is complete and our male rooster "Macho" lived Happily Ever-After. This was a good movie but not Eastwood's best and I am sure there will be more to come for this 92-year old filmmaker.
Some people will tell you that surviving the Delta variant will require a mask and a shot in the arm with some wild medicine. Yet while my date and myself had the place to ourselves, we stilled followed CDC Guidelines. The brainwashing is now complete, we noticed in the ending credits, several new Corona virus coordinator job positions added to Warner Bros. film crew. These strange time as the Malpaso butterfly sets flight with another classic motion picture. I suggest that you get out of the house and go see this picture. My date Kathy said she enjoyed the movie and you will as well. It's up to the rest of us to keep "The Too Much Fun Club" open and America needs our help!
